Welcome to another week in community.
I took a sneaky trip to Devon, which was lovely, but still, for me, there is simply no place like home. π

π This week in Rosieland
Recently, I've been working on building up a database of community case studies. I find it fascinating to dive into the history, background and growth (or not) of these many community orgs. I'm certainly learning along the way. What is clear...there is no one way. Every story has its variations of how they've grown. And perhaps that's the point.
Recently, at London Community Week, I did a workshop on The AI MVC. The thing about speaking gigs and workshops is that I always wish I hadn't committed to doing the thing, until I actually go and do the thing. I'm full of dread in the weeks coming up to it. I stress. I cuss at myself. I think about all the pressures in life.
But then I go and do the thing, and I'm like ahhh. It was good, when can I do the next one? And it's not just about feeling good, it forces me to do the work and ship some things I've been wanting to do. In the run up to the workshop, I started pulling together a set of an AI companion to my Exploring Community Discovery, an online book about building community, from a research perspective. They work hand in hand. Honestly, I'm loving it all and it's inspired so many other thoughts.
I quite like the idea of braining dumping my weekly thoughts here, so maybe I'll do it again. Until then, read on for the interesting, community and adjacent links I've dug up this week.
