Often when we think about community, we think about creating a 'home' and hoping people will show up and participate to the things going on. This could be a chat type space like Slack or Discord. Or even more traditionally it could be about gathering in a community forum type place.
Our energy as community builders is pressured to make this central place to be that place of value. We end up being measured on that more than anything else.
We could also visualise this home being an office building, a church, a school, a stadium. These spaces are not filled all the time. Their success is not determined on daily engagement. They are there for a purpose and they tap into many other aspects of community and life.
