I've been building businesses for 20 years. As a founder, co-founder, advisor, investor and even leading a community of founders for a couple of years.
I have both the experience of doing the work and being in the midst of being with or observing people who are building. I've seen people who win. And those who fail. I've read, watched and listened to so much over the years.
I've personally failed and removed myself from failed ventures. I've also experienced winning. Though there's a difference between winning and having won.
You can feel like you're winning (or losing) on a daily basis. To actually win means having a longer term outcomes. A few years ago I felt like I was winning. Then I had this wtf period of losing. Now I feel like I'm winning again.
But I've not won. Mainly because I don't feel like my work is done. And also there is huge instability in the world right now. At any given point any business could go under due to some random external factor.
