This week I published a piece on Community Pairing and how to build the idea of pairs into your community strategy. And funnily enough, I happen to be pairing with Tony this week as we explore Gather — we'd love it if you joined in too!
Also on Rosieland this week:
- it's conversation first, not community first
- recording and slides from Community Marketing event
- applications for my MVC cohort are still open
- ...and help me curate a mega list of Code of Conducts...

Call it grassroots, call it old school, but direct Google calendar invites with hidden guest lists work too (and way more effective IMO). 🤷♀️ pic.twitter.com/U6dvZyxb3S
The term "community-led" keeps buzzing around my head lately.

I understand the sentiment and concept. It just doesn't feel right to me.
Perhaps it's semantics but "community-built" fits better to me. It's not about giving up control, etc., but creating a true collaboration.
The real beauty of community is co-creating.

What is Gen Z really in the market for?
Community.
There's never been a more important time to prioritize community, especially if it's one that's built through a screen.

✨Community Tip✨: Run 15-minutes office hours twice a quarter for your Community where folks can sign up for 1:1 time with you to ask for help, share feedback or even say hi. Those 2 days end up being my favorite because I build stronger relationships w/ my community members🤝💖

It's a real test leaving your community for an extended period. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't scary or that I wasn't concerned, BUT...
