π¦ The weather can't seem to make up it's mind. We had rain and sunshine. I didn't see a rainbow though!
π» Looking to blossom into a new community role?
A few weeks back we launched a thing to help community freelancers and consultants find work. And we're pleased that some people have already found some paid opportunities. π₯³
Now it's time to help connect people with full-time employment opportunities. Anyone can submit their details to be listed as looking for new employment opportunities. We will review submissions and create a list.
The list will be launched later this week and available to paid members, this means a good amount of privacy and no cost for the job seeker. It's down to the employers to sign up and browse the availability of community people.

In communities, as builders we have to take up the task of creating spaces that reduce friction and increase the fun & incentives for others to succeed. Leadership is much the same way.

What do you think is missing in the Community industry?
— Krystal Wu (@HelloKrystalWu) October 17, 2022
I think the idea of "community burnout" is slightly off. I think more likely what is happening is that the main value of communities has been bringing like-minded people together, and this approach has become so commonplace that it no longer stands out. You have to DELIVER VALUE.

A while ago, someone I worked with asked me to help "spin up" a community. I said, 'I don't "spin up" communities. I build them.' They responded, "Come on. This isn't rocket science." I wished them good luck & moved on.
